BIOGRAPHY

Moritz Schulte, born 1998 in Braunschweig (Germany) began playing the flute at the age
of 10. After winning multiple first prizes at the national Youth Competition  “Jugend musiziert” in different categories, he started studying flute with Prof. Angela Firkins at the Musikhochschule Lübeck in 2016. Already one year later he won an internship at the Lübeck Philharmonic Orchestra. Concerts and projects with orchestras like “Ensemble Resonanz” in Hamburg, including a concert in the famous Elbphilharmonie, “Camerata Hamburg” and “Hofkapelle Meiningen” helped him to gain experience in the professional music world.
In 2020 Moritz Schulte moved on to the Kunstuniversität Graz, where he is still studying with Prof. Erwin Klambauer at the Institut Oberschützen. Living in Vienna with all its tradition for classical music offeres a big possibility to expand his knowledge. Playing in the well-known Konzerthaus with the “Anna-Rothschild-Ensemble-Wien”, was one of the many opportunities he had to experience the huge Viennese musical landscape.
Due to received scholarships at the DAAD (Deutsch Akademischer Austauschdienst), the Richard-Wagner Verband and the ad-infinitum Foundation he had the chance to participate in masterclasses with well-known flautists like Peter-Lukas Graf, Andreas Blau (Berliner Phil.), Michael M. Kofler (Mozarteum Salzburg) and Petri Alanko (Sibelius Academy Helsinki). In November 2019 Moritz Schulte won the first prize at the 8th International “Severrino Gazzelloni” Flute Competition in Pescara (Italy). Since September 2022 he is the flute academist of the world-known Wiener Philharmoniker (Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra)
